IntelliCAD 10 Released

It is official now. IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) has announced the release of the newest version of their proprietary CAD support technology - IntelliCAD, the IntelliCAD 10.0, bringing in a whole new range of features for all the CAD software which are supported by it, including the brand new ActCAD 2021.

ActCAD uses the latest IntelliCAD 10 Engine, Open Design Alliance, dwg/dxf Libraries, ACIS 3D Modeling Kernel, and many other Technologies which ensures file support right from the early R2.5 to the latest 2021 version of dwg/dxf. It also supports other file formats like .dgn, .step/.stp, .iges/.igs, .stl, .obj, 2D PDF, 3D PDF, .svg, .dae, etc. The interface and commands are designed in a manner that is familiar and easy for migration from any CAD Software.

For starters, it now supports the OpenGL ES graphics device, along with a new range of visual styles, allowing for enhanced display quality and improved performance. Users can take advantage of a newer materials library, by assigning the contained materials to entities and layers, and can also display them with visual styles. Now, in-program display of spot and point lights, along with visual styles is possible.

The View Manager has been completely redesigned to have more options available for the users, who can now make selections dynamically for the view’s background, perspective, lens length, etc. The induction of new dynamic input allows the incorporation of command prompts and measurement guides at the cursor.

The ability to set margins, page size, .pmp files, and settings that can vary according to the output file type greatly enhances printing with .pc3 customization files. Now, .obj and .stl files are also part of the import file formats available. The ability to view properties of custom entities is one of the new properties that are available for various entity types in the Properties panel.

IntelliCAD 10 makes it possible now for complete migration of user interface customizations from previous versions.

There are also a bunch of smaller features packed in with the IntelliCAD 10 that will increase the end users’ efficiency. Users are now capable of re-ordering and sorting layer filters. Combining paragraphs, clearing the formatting of multiline text, and determining which user interface items are hidden when cleaning the screen, are now possible. Users can now use new videos and online resources from the Start page and can convert closed entities to solids, specifying a layer state for each published sheet. Additionally, a redesigned status bar, improvements for Section 508 usability, a better 4K display support, and an initial Hungarian translation will radically improve user efficiency and comfort.

IntelliCAD versions that work with BIM files, allow users to draw roofs and beams, create mitered joints for beams, explode attached BIM underlays into Polyface meshes and polylines which the users can edit while retaining underlay functionality. New options are available for use for section lines and elevation lines.

IntelliCAD versions that allow the options to open, save, and edit .dgn files in their native formats, now have a supported command set that includes Multiline Text, Chamfer, and Dimension Styles.

IntelliCAD 10 brings in ODA SDKs version 2020 Update 2 and an enhanced .NET and IRX functionality for increased API capabilities for the technical users.

It also incorporates additional improvements and fixes for performance, working with files, editing, and selecting entities, text, printing, and a lot of other functions.

In the words of David Lorenzo, ITC President, “IntelliCAD 10 is a huge structural update with new core libraries from the ODA, a new geometry library, updated graphics, and new APIs. Yes, there are several interesting new features for users too, but the structural changes provide a much stronger foundation on which ITC members can build even more complex and diverse applications.”

IntelliCAD 10.0 is now supported on Microsoft OS platforms such as Windows 10, Windows 8, and even Windows 7 64-bit versions. IntelliCAD Mobile Viewer versions are now available for Windows desktop, Google Android, Apple macOS, and iOS.
