SLOPETEXT – Display Slope Information in ACTCAD
The SLOPETEXT command in ACTCAD calculates and displays the slope of a selected line or two specified points. The slope is shown as a text label (typically a percentage, and optionally in degrees). This is especially useful in civil engineering, surveying, and construction drawings for roads, drainage, canals, and grading designs.
Steps to Use SLOPETEXT in ACTCAD:
-
Step 1 : Launch the SLOPETEXT Command
Type SLOPETEXT in the command bar and press Enter.
-
Step 2 : Select a Line or Polyline
Click an existing line or polyline segment to measure its slope.
-
Step 3 : Specify Text Parameters
- Text Height: Enter the required size for the slope label.
- Offset Distance: Enter how far the label should be placed from the line for clear visibility.
-
Step 4 : Place the Slope Label
ACTCAD inserts text such as SLOPE: XX%, aligned with the slope direction and positioned at the specified offset.

Notes
- Slopes are displayed in percent by default; degrees may be used if required.
- Use object snaps for precise selection of lines or points.
- If placement is not ideal, move or recreate the label with a different offset or text height.

Conclusion
The SLOPETEXT command provides a fast and reliable way to annotate slopes with customizable text height and offset. By automating slope calculations and label placement, it improves drafting accuracy and readability in civil and structural design drawings.
